<p>Learn how to use Mason Stains to expand your ceramic palette! This hour workshop will teach you the basics of using stains in slips, glazes, engobes, and underglazes. Mason Stains are a great way to give your work a boost of color!</p>

<p><strong>Instructor:</strong> Audrey Hodtwalker is a local artist with over thirteen years experience in the Bay Area arts community. Her love of ceramic sculpture and pottery began at a young age. She is currently the Customer Service Manager at ClayPeople. She earned her B.F.A. from Oakland&#8217;s California College of the Arts. Audrey continues to share her lifetime of knowledge through lectures and workshops, in addition to showing at local galleries. She has worked with many institutions including the ASUC Art Studio (UC Berkeley), Albany YMCA, CCA&#8217;s Ceramic Guild, and the John Natsulas Gallery (CCACA, Davis).</p>

This hands-on workshop will cover the design, carving, and production techniques developed by Lynne Meade over the last twelve years. This two-day intensive workshop will include:<br />
a presentation of Meade’s carved work, emphasizing the evolution of design and technique, along with a discussion 3D design principles; a demonstration of simple methods to quickly and easily design on 3-dimensional and round pieces; learn specific carving techniques, including individualized time with Meade; etching with varnish will be covered as an additional way to create raised surfaces.  </p>
