I purchased this kiln new in 1990 and has been well taken care of throughout the years it was rebuilt in 2018 by Joe Kowalczyk, he installed a new wiring harness, switches and elements (240v) Only been fired about 25 times on the new rebuild! Bricks are in great condition and it comes with shelves! The kiln is located in Oakland, it comes apart for transport. Text me if you would like to see some photos of this kiln.
Here’s the what the catalog says about this kiln:
The Cone Art Kilns 2827 is a true production kiln that has been designed to fire easily to cone 8.
It is a double insulated kiln with 2.5 ” of premium firebrick plus 1″ of block insulation. This extra thick wall insulation ensures a cooler, safer jacket that can save approximately 30% in electricity costs. It also gives longer element life since the elements don’t have to work so hard.
Heavy-duty Kanthal A-1 elements are installed in the walls and floor for perfectly even firings.
